Mattaya Foot Massage & Health Camp

Mataya is a typical Buddhist festival of Patan which is a bit similar to the Hindu festival of lights but quite different from Deepawali. This interesting festival begins early in the morning on the 2nd day of the dark fortnight of Bhadra and goes on almost all day long. One of the most fascinating features of this festival is the colorful festival parade that goes past by almost all the Buddhist shrines scattered in and around the city of Patan known for the rich Buddhist cultural heritage. It is interesting to note that offering oil lamps to Buddha on this day is believed to remind one and all of the enlightenment the Lord Buddha obtained by overcoming Maras (temptations).
