Interaction on Installation of a Bio-Sand Filter plant
On Wednesday,18th February, 2026 Rotary Club of Yala had an Interaction and Discussion Program related to the Installation of a Bio-Sand Filter plant in the 30 schools of Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality of Koshi Province and handed over the Bio-Sand Filter units to the Mayor Tirthraj Bhattarai.
On this occasion, the club celebrated a significant milestone for student health and education in the community, reinforcing its commitment to ensuring safe drinking water and a healthier learning environment for children
30 schools are set to receive Bio-Sand Water Filters, ensuring clean and safe drinking water for thousands of children. The installation process is expected to be completed within one month.
This initiative was made possible through the collaboration of: Rotary Club of Jindalee (Australia), Rotary Club of Yala (Nepal), Rotary International District 3292, Diktel Municipality and Best Paani Nepal. The total cost of project is Rs 10 lakhs.
The event brought together 72 participants- senior government officials, NGO representatives, journalists, all 30 school principals and School Management Committee chairs including Mayor Tirthraj Bhattarai, Prof. Dr. Kedar Prasad Rijal (Registrar TU), CDO Rekha Kadel, Chief of the Army Staff, Shree Kedar Prasad Lamichaane, DSP Prakash Budhathoki, DSP Shailendra Neupane and Rotarians, Anns from the Club.
Why it matters: Safe water reduces waterborne diseases, healthier students and better attendance, and creates a better learning environment for brighter futures.
Heartfelt gratitude was expressed by schools, officials, and community members. Together, we are building a healthier, stronger, and more educated generation. This is more than clean water—it’s hope, opportunity, and a brighter tomorrow for our children.
