District Governor Official Visit

The Rotary Club of Yala successfully conducted the Official Club Visit of District Governor (DG) Rtn. Binod Koirala, coinciding with its 4th Club Assembly and RWM 1482 at Hotel Godwill, Kanibahal, Lalitpur. DG Koirala, accompanied by District officials Rtn. Anish Bajracharya (District Secretary), Rtn. Arjun Shrestha (Joint Secretary), Rtn. Uttam Paudyal (Aide to DG), and Rtn. Naresh Man Tuladhar (Assistant Governor), was warmly welcomed by Club President Rtn. Om Shanker Shrestha.
The visit began with an exhibition of Coding and Robotics projects by students of Kitani Secondary School, featuring innovations like 3D printing, Home Automation, and Obstacle-Avoiding Robots. DG Koirala appreciated their creativity and technical skills.
A confidential meeting followed, where the DG and his team commended RC Yala’s timely online reporting, active participation in district programs, and contributions to The Rotary Foundation (TRF). They suggested bylaw alignment with RI’s new model, BOD approval for honorary memberships, inclusion of two vice presidents (with the president elect as the first vice), issuance of membership certificates with RI numbers, inducting more young members, and cost-effective online meetings.

DG Koirala expressed his long-standing connection with RC Yala and praised its tradition of weekly meetings and encouraging members to visit other clubs. He emphasized online reporting for award consideration, urged sustainability in projects, highlighted the global membership challenge, and encouraged adding at least one new member this Rotary year. He appreciated RC Yala’s $5,500 TRF contribution but noted the need to enhance publicity of its impactful community work.
RWM 1482 was held following 4th Club assembly. Club President Rtn Om Shanker Shrestha chaired the meeting and expressed gratitude to dynamic and visionary District Governor for his inspiring remarks and valuable guidance.

During the meeting, the President presented a token of love to the District Governor, a cheque of US $100 (Rs 14,200) for the club’s contribution to the PolioPlus Fund. He also handed over a cheque for US $4,500 (Rs 6,39,000) as the club’s contribution to The Rotary Foundation. Contributors included:
