Classification Talk by Rtn. Sanjaya Shrestha
The Regular Club Meeting No. 1513 (46th of Rotary Year 2025–26) of the Rotary Club of Yala was convened on 29 May 2026 via Online Google Meet. The main agenda of the meeting was a Classification Talk by Rtn. Sanjaya Shrestha.
Sanjaya Shrestha, born in Indrachowk in 2021 BS, currently resides at Mt. Residency Housing, Harisiddhi, He is married to Mrs. Purna Laxmi Shrestha and is blessed with a son and a daughter.
He obtained a Master’s degree in Engineering from Zaparozhye, Ukraine with a specialization in arsenal and ammunition engineering in 1993. He later earned an MBA degree also from KU in 2002.
Upon returning to Nepal, he joined the Army Service in 1994 and commenced his professional career at the Sundarijal Arsenal Factory. The factory was established by General Gehendra Shamsher Rana. The Factory was engaged in the production of guns, bullets, cartridges, and various types of ammunition required for national defense.
He was also engaged in hands-on training in the repair and maintenance of weapons to army personnel. He was actively involved in publishing The Development Insight, a magazine that focused on development projects, their achievements, challenges etc.
After serving the nation for 27 years, he retired from the Nepal Army in 2076 B.S. Later, he joined Nepal Cancer Hospital & Research Center, Harisiddhi, where he currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors. He is now fully involved at Janamaitri Hospital, Balaju, serving as its Hospital Director.
Rtn. Sanjaya is fond of music. He has travelled more than 30 countries.
He joined RC Yala in June 2021 and is currently serving as the Membership Chair for RY 2025/26.
Furthermore, information was shared regarding the distribution of food items to Manjushree Elderly Home on 1 June 2026, in line with the District’s fellowship program and the 6th Club Assembly scheduled for 5 June 2026.
