Training on Food Processing of Fruit and Vegetables

Rotary Club of Yala with financial support of Prime Bank Ltd conducted a training
program for participants of Nepal Disabled Women Association (NDWA) on
Food processing of fruit and vegetables from 10 to 12 November 2021. The
training was conducted at NDWA’s rehabilitation center located at Hattigaunda,
Bhangal of Budhanilkantha Municipality. The rehabilitation center is the place
where women and girls having any form of disability can come to stay and pursue
their study or learn some skill. Thus the training was conducted for those
who stay there and involve in food processing to generate some income for the
center. Altogether 19 women participated in the training, almost half of them
live at the center and four of them live outside of whom three are involved in
pickle making. Other three of the participants also joined the training as the
guardians of disabled children.
The participants have some sort of disability such as one from Panchthar had
only one arm, two deaf, two are blind orlow vision, two were cerebral palsy
(mental retarded), 5 have problems of legs due to polio (one or both), four from
outside are the guardians of mentally retarded persons and three the office
bearers of NDWA.
