Installation of Bio-Sand Filtration Units at the Siraha Jail

On 15th June 2026, the installation of Bio-Sand Filtration Units at the Siraha Jail Office was successfully completed. Through this humanitarian project, a continuous water supply system was arranged by harvesting rainwater, enabling around 600 inmates, approximately 100 security personnel, staff members and visitors to gain access to safe and healthy drinking water. The project has also contributed to the control of water-borne diseases, ensured an adequate water supply for cleaning, washing clothes, and bathing, and promoted environmental protection and public health. The total project cost of Rs. 350,000 was generously contributed by Rtn. Surendra Govinda Joshi and Rtn. Pramod Sagar Pradhan.

This initiative reaffirms RC Yala’s commitment to addressing basic human needs through sustainable and impactful service projects. By improving access to safe water and sanitation, the Club continues to uphold Rotary’s mission of promoting health and the well-being of vulnerable communities.
