Presentation on Basic Education & Literacy
The Regular Club Meeting No. 1511 (44th of RY 2025/26) of the Rotary Club of Yala was held on 15 May 2026 at Goodwill Hotel with the main agenda, “Basic Education & Literacy (BE&L) Program – Towards a literate Nepal,” presented by Rtn. Ar. Rajesh Thapa, Member Secretary of the BE&L Committee of RI District 3292.
He highlighted the goals of the TEACH Program under the BE&L mission, which are to develop child-friendly happy schools where children can learn joyfully in a safe physical and social environment, and to achieve 100% literacy and school enrollment in the school catchment areas.
He presented budget allocation for each component under BE&L, ongoing projects in 2025–26. funding guidelines, project development process, and criteria for project approval.
The presentation was highly informative and provided valuable insights into project development, implementation and impact of the BE&L Program and was well received by the 26 participants present.
Information regarding the Grant Management Seminar to be held on 29 May 2026 at Best Western Plus Kathmandu and the Club Leadership Learning Seminar scheduled for Saturday, 30 May 2026, at DAV School was shared during the meeting.
